Diffusion of innovation in low-income countries

Resource type: Brief

Published: 2016

Author: Dirk Willem te Velde, Xiaolan Fu

In this Research in Context brief, innovation technical lead Dirk Willem te Velde and innovation researcher Xiaolan Fu summarises and sets in context DEGRP-funded project ‘Diffusion of Innovation in Low-Income Countries (DILIC)’ project.

Beginning in 2012, DILIC was led by Xiaolan Fu, Professor of Technology and International Development at Oxford University. Combining broader cross-country analysis and a narrower focus on Ghana – until recently a low-income country- it explored the determinants and transmission channels for effective innovation creation, diffusion and adoption in low-income countries (LICs) under institutional, financial and human resources constraints.
